Mother’s day gift ideas can be tough. How do you tell your mum how amazing she is? This mother’s day, show mum you really care this year by giving her the gift of time, self-care and a little indulgence. Because Mums really are superheroes. They wear invisible capes every single day, make everything look easy-peasy and somehow manage to be flipping fabulous to boot.
This Mother’s Day, we’re sharing some homemade gift ideas for the super mum in your life. Remind her to take the time to pamper herself with these special somethings from the SuperFastDiet team. Because it’s the little, homemade things that she’ll cherish more than anything else.
Mother’s Day Gift #1 – Homemade Bath Salts
Mums often don’t have time to go to the salon or spa, because they’re so busy taking care of everyone else. All you have to do to give her the gift of a little self-care this Mother’s Day is open the kitchen cupboards and make these fizzy bath salts.
Ingredients:
3 tablespoons sea salt
3 tablespoons baking soda
1 teaspoon citric acid
Essential oils approximately 8 drops
A small jar
Lavender flowers (optional)
Mix together sea salt, baking soda, citric acid and essential oil in a jar. Gently shake to mix the ingredients. Once mixed, add some lavender flowers or rose petals to make the mixture look more interesting. Add to a bath of running water.
Mother’s Day Gift #2 – Honey & Rosemary Hair Treatment
If your mum is anything like us, she probably spends most of her day wearing a topknot as she rushes from one thing to another. This homemade hair treatment will have her feeling refreshed and pampered all Mother’s Day long. (And it can be made from things you already have in the kitchen cupboards!)
Ingredients:
¼ cup honey
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 drops rosemary oil
Place all ingredients into a screw top jar and shake well. Apply to towel-dried hair and work the mixture through thoroughly. Cover the hair with plastic wrap or a shower cap before wrapping with a warm towel. Leave on for 30 minutes. Shampoo and let the hair dry naturally.
Mother’s Day Gift #3 – A Night In With The Girls
Self-care includes socialising. Yes, really! And many mums don’t get enough time to be social, let alone getting a whole night to chat with the girls, watch Netflix or pamper themselves. So instead of buying your mum a scarf or a book this Mother’s Day, why not treat her to a night to herself? Just tidy the house, grab her the ingredients for this low-calorie cocktail and hot-foot it outta there.
Ingredients:Â
Crushed ice
4 mint leaves
2 tbsp fresh lime juice
¼ tsp Stevia
30ml white rum
½ cup chopped de-seeded watermelon
splash chilled soda water
Small watermelon wedge to garnish
Combine Stevia with ¼ teaspoon warm water and mix until dissolved. In a cocktail shaker, muddle ice, mint leaves, lime juice, Stevia syrup, chopped watermelon and rum. Fill a tumbler with ice, then strain watermelon and rum mix into glass. Top with soda water and garnish with a small watermelon wedge and sprig of mint.

Mother’s Day Gift #4 – A Poem
It’s those little heartfelt gestures that mothers cherish more than anything. But sometimes it’s hard to find the right words – especially if you’re not a wordsmith. So, we’ve created a template for you to work from. Feel free to steal our words for your card, and take all the credit and snuggles for yourself!
You’re My Super Hero
You know what I’m thinking with a single glance.
You make my days brighter with a single smile.Â
You leap giant challenges in a single bound.
You make me laugh with a single word.
And you make the world better in a squillion different ways.
Somehow, you manage to flawlessly juggle…
strength,
a sense of humour,
almost magical abilities,
sass,
fashion sense,
mastery over the weather,
the art of time travel,Â
and a good heart
As far as I’m concerned, you’re Wonder Woman.
Thank you, Mum!
You’re my super hero.Â
