The secret is out! We love the New Weekly feature on SuperFastDiet. It’s all about ditching the weight and keeping it off!
New Weekly editor, Mark Brandon, says: “At a recent event, I met a great lady by the name of Victoria Black, and she was telling about this amazing new diet she’d founded with some of Australia’s leading experts. I was hooked straight away – and so our SuperFastDiet special in this week’s issue was born. A part-time diet, where you can still have a beer and eat pizza? Sign me up!”
“Experts say a ‘part-time’ diet is the key to your dream body. Intermittent fasting as a means of sustainable weight loss? OK, so it’s not exactly a new concept! For years, a host of celebs and everyday people have devoted themselves to the 5:2 diet – five days of regular eating where you don’t have to stress about your calorie intake, and then two days of strict fasting. That is, cutting down your daily intake to just 25 percent of your energy needs so that you’re taking in fewer calories than you burn, hence shedding more fat. But now science has moved on from the five days off, two days on method, and studies show that switching up the way you intermittently fast can work just as well for fast – and sustainable – weight loss.
And the Aussie SuperFastDiet is just one new version that’s giving people the option to diet ‘part-time’ but still maintain their ideal figure. Um, where do we sign up?!
Weight loss aside there’s plenty of good health reasons so many people swear by this ‘fast diet’ over any other – such as reducing blood glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol levels, which in tern prevent diabetes and heart disease.”
Fasting in a nutshell:
- “The SuperFastDiet program offers three ways to try out fasting: the 2-Day Method, which borrows from 5:2 principles, the 3-Day Method, which is three days of fasting and four days of normal eating, and the Part-Time Method, which allows for a 16-hour fasting period on any day – and as many days – as you choose.
- Aussie personal trainer, Shannan Ponton, has been a ‘huge fan’ of intermittent fasting for years saying, “The reason that I advocate intermittent fasting for my clients and the reason I do it is because I find it easier to stick to. It’s easier to manage, and to fit into your lifestyle than diets that restrict your calorie intake for every meal, 24/7. It also allows you non-fasting days on which you can still enjoy healthy nutritious and tasty food in more moderate quantities.
These fasting plans aren’t about starving – they’re about staying in shape while still living your life and enjoying that food and vino on your non-diet days!”
