Genevieve Davidson and her business partner Victoria Black have established a weight-loss venture which they say helps people drop the kilos by simply eating less.
Ms Davidson, 57, has more than 30 years’ experience in the diet and weight-loss field but has faced her own struggles with weight management. That was until she discovered intermittent fasting through a family member.
“I have had a weight problem myself and have always found that I could lose the weight and be really disciplined because I knew how to do it,” she said.
“However, I found it hard to maintain the weight loss because it is so hard to stay on a diet all the time.
“After I spoke to my brother-in-law and saw he had lost a significant amount of weight through fasting I decided to give it a go myself — and I ended up going on to lose 30kg.”
Following her success, Ms Davidson said she wanted to share her secret with the rest of the community. So she created a platform others could follow.
“I remember walking through the supermarket and seeing all these overweight people and thinking, why isn’t everybody doing this diet?” she said.
“So I came up with the idea of doing this program and educating people on how to lose the weight like I had.”
The program she created is called the Superfast Diet and is an online weight-loss tool, providing members with meal plans, video tutorials and exercise modules to help them achieve their weight-loss goals.
The cornerstone of the program, however, is fasting, which requires participants to limit their calorie intake by two-thirds for two days a week.
The program has acquired the contributions and advice of health and fitness experts such as celebrity trainer Shannon Ponton, fasting expert Krista Vardy and GP Penny Adams.
