Wondering how to fit in intermittent fasting into a social, busy week? Keep reading as we explain our ultimate holiday guide to intermittent fasting. We should tell you how easy it is, as well as the best low calorie food swaps for your next party and some delicious summery low calorie cocktails for the upcoming silly season!
How does intermittent fasting fit into a social life?
At SuperFastDiet we believe a life without being social and enjoying yourself with friends is no life at all. In no way do we want to tell you that you have to cut out your delicious and Instagrammable cheese board at your next girls night or that glass of Rosé at the end of a long work week. With the silly, social, summer season coming up, we know there will be a lot of celebrating to be had – but how do you do it without completely compromising all the work you’ve put in. The great thing about intermittent fasting is that it means you have days of fasting, or periods of fasting throughout the day, depending upon the method of your choice. So, these days or periods cut down your calorie intake significantly with non-fast days and periods allowing you to continue to enjoy eating and drinking at your favourite restaurants and bars.
This means that if you have a party on Saturday night, fast during the week, maybe Tuesday and Thursday, allowing yourself to enjoy your party! Have an unexpected promotion on your normal fast day? Amazing! Pop the bubbly that night and fast tomorrow instead. Depending upon what fasting method you choose, whether it be 3 day, 2 day or part-day, you can compensate and move it around depending on what you have going on in your fun and social weekly calendar. It is ALL ABOUT BALANCE! Here at SuperFastDiet we want you to still indulge and enjoy your life, not let a diet overtake.

Smart Snacking
When you’re heading to a party where you know the nibbles on offer are more than likely yummy, over-indulgent finger foods & cheeses, it is extremely tempting to go for that option when under the influence. To resist either have a bit to eat before you head out or suggest other great snacks or restaurants with tasty & low-cal options, or bring your own for everyone to enjoy to swap for the SFD-sabotaging options! Here are some great swap options:

Smart Drinking
Bubbly is Better
One of our favourite fun facts regarding enjoying alcohol whilst fasting is the fact that champagne is one of the best low-calorie options! As champagne is lower sugar, and generally a lower serving size than wine, they’re a great low cal option, only about 90 calories per glass. Yep, pop the top off your bubbly and enjoy a flute without blowing the calorie budget at your next social gathering!
